A Marianas Trench One Shot

I breathed heavily as I felt my long dress trail behind me, it felt like one of those ball-and-chains that you have attached to your feet in prison.
No, that’s wrong. It felt like my past, all my bad memories and depressing experiences slowly falling off me.
Today, I was getting married to the man that I truly love. The man who has been through my life as a boyfriend, and a best friend, the man who has given me unconditional love no matter what.
Today I was getting married to Michael Ayley.
I smiled to myself as I walked down the aisle, everyone’s eyes were on me. All my friends and family, I glanced up and saw my maid or honour, Heather. Standing proudly on the alter grinning at me with tears threatening to fall down her face. She looked across the stage to her husband Josh, who was standing in a very suave suit along with Matt and Ian. My father lifted my hand up and helped me up the few steps and onto the stage. He placed my hand gently into Mike’s warm palm.
“Take care of her.” he murmured silently to Mike, I grinned and kissed my father on the cheek as he mad his way to the side of the alter. I looked up from underneath the hair that had fallen into my eyes and saw Mike, looking lovingly back at me. He chuckled and brushed the stands of hair off my forehead.
We faced the front of the alter and sat patiently through the words, we repeated when told. I felt a wave of relief when I heard the priest mumble through the last words.
“You may now kiss the bride.” I blinked and grinned as Mike wrapped his thick-muscled arms around my waist and dipped me down while he planted a big kiss on me. The crowd applauded and suddenly, life was starting to go in the right direction.
